NCE selling GW iPod Nano...
So it would seem the NCE store is selling Guild Wars iPod Nanos (and Nano skins). I saw the price of 350 BPS and was a bit surprised. If memory serves, that's roughly $700 US ($745 Canadian). I thought to myself, well maybe it's one of those new 8gig Nanos... it's a 2gig. Then I thought, well maybe iPods are more expensive in the UK. Amazon is selling 2gig iPods for 80 BPS - roughly the same as here. So, to get the GW art on your iPod, you can pay an extra 270 BPS for it (that's $540 for those not paying attention).
So in seeing this awesome offer I've come to two conclusions:
For and extra 270 pounds, it better shoot fireballs and suck the life out of people.
or
A brilliant product for people with more money than brains.

Those people play World of Warcraft.
Alright, alright, that was a low blow, even from me. But still, I noticed that was odd when I checked the site earlier. I know the coloring process for iPod Nanos is pricy...but that's pushing it.

I'm guessing it has all of the GW soundtracks on the thing? That's the only reason I could imagine such an insanely hiked up price..

Unless they offer non-protected WMA files... iTunes can't play those.
What would be the irony of this situation.
At most you can make audio cd's of the main OST's (only) then re-import (and take a quality hit).

If that's the case someone needs to learn how to count i've never looked at the cost of the soundtracks but surely it wouldn't be more than £20 - £30?
And if so wouldn't that be at least 200mb of the 2Gb gone already
I must say the first thing I did was visit Amazon to see how much a standard one costs, then I LOL'd for a few minutes, thinking wow Anet NCE are getting more shameless by the day.

Very little expresses your loyalty to Guild Wars as well as this officially branded Apple iPod nano which as a reward for playing our games and buying our products we'd like to offer it to you at the bargain price of 4.3 times the cost of a standard coloured model.

It better have mending as well incase you drop it.
Also it's strictly LE, i'm finding that extra shameless since they don't say how many is limited.

That would just eat batteries!
OT; That price is absurd, it'd probably be cheaper to order an iPod in the iPod store where you can get your name inscribed for about $5 extra and just say your name is "Guild Wars"

There is a post about the merchandise in store including the iPod here.
Asked a question to our PR queen Gaile but didn't get a reply and don't really expect one tbh.

Merch is online now....
And second thought, at a ridiculous £350 for a 2GB Nano with the Guild Wars logo and eve printed I don't think I will bother!
Just to put that in perspective:
2GB Standard iPod Nano £79.99 (ebuyer quote)
8GB Standard iPod Nano £130.00 (ebuyer quote)
80GB Video iPod £211.48 (ebuyer quote)
8GB iPhone £359 (on O2)
Anyone else think its a little excessive, even for a "limited edition"?
I just can't justify spending £350 on essentially a flashy looking basic 2GB iPod when it would be lot cheaper and more individual to get the 80GB Video iPod with a custom printed cover with your own character from your own artwork (obviously not using screenshots that's under copyright and would be naughty ).
Gaile can I ask why the 2GB iPod Nano is £350?
Bearing in mind its a "limited edition" so will have been slightly more expensive to make I still don't understand the increase from an average high street £90 to £350?
Oh and is there shipping on top of that?

£350 for a poxy 2GB Nano is somewhat excessive to say the least, even if it is a Limited Edition. Hell, it's daylight robbery!

Everything on the guild wars store is a total rip. I mean a hoody for £50 seriously thats not worth it. The t-shirts are pretty horrible too, i was at the brighton event and we got a free t-shirt then and it was way nicer than what's in the store.
